How would the polysomnography study be coded when the patient starts with 95810 Polysomnography with 4 paramaeters but then the procedure is stopped and a CPAP 95811 is given to see if this helps the patient sleep and the test continues. The provider calls this a split visit polysomnography.

My thought is to bill the higher 95811. Is this correct, or should a modifer be added to the 95810 to show discontinued but then also use the 95811?
