If a product is non-covered per a "retired" LCD and there is no new LCD to replace it, can we assume that product is still not covered? I know that products and services COVERED by a retired LCD should still be covered, but not sure about things that were specified as NON-covered.
Retired LCD 34593(Application of bioengineered skin substitutes), specifies Integra bilayer matrix wound dressing (Q4104) as non-covered. I always assumed this is because of it actually being called a "wound dressing" rather than a bioengineered skin substitue. It seems to me that it would still not be covered for the same reason.
There is no applicable NCD.
Any thoughts?
