I have a question to some one who might know this.
On the stress echo coding in the facility setting.
We have different physician who supervises and another who reads and interprets.

Should we be splitting up the 93016 and 93018 cpt codes?

Thank you,

Hey Theresa-

Yes, even though it is anti-intuitive. Since there facility owns the equiptment, you will split the 26 component between supervising and interpretting...

Donna,
Thank you for answering. One more question. Is there a documentation requirement for the supervision part? We have physicians who take turns supervising ( i guess) and how do we have proof of who?
