A 59 yr old male experienced left arm pain while cleaning in the garage. There was no injury. His provider scheduled a 30 min stress test using the bruce protocol at the hospital. There was no arm pain while on treadmill; he did have a slight heart rhythm abnormality. The pt rested for 2 mins. He had no further pain or symptoms. The cardiologist supervised the study, interpreted the test and dictated the report. What is the CPT code?

A) 93015
B) 93015-26
C) 93016, 93018
D) 93018

What could the code be? If so what is the reason for the particular code to be selected.

Understanding the rationale would help me better... Thank you.

93016, 93018. Your MD can only bill for the supervision and interpretation and report.

93015 is the global code. Since it was done in the hosp, they will bill for the technical portion. If it has been done in the MDs office,
he would be able to bill 93015.
