I am new to orthopaedic coding, but would like to learn more. Can anyone please give me any advice on what books are available in this area (for coders)?

I looked at the COSC exam section to see if any books were recommended, but there didn't appear to be any specific to orthopaedics.

Thanks for your help!

:)

Ingenix looks promising, but the ortho comes in two volumes which makes it VERY expensive! I am still looking into it (at a slow pace and will keep you informed). Thank you for the Ingenix idea- I didn't think of "outside" vendors!

The Ingenix Expert CPT book is not allowed on the specialty exam, but it does allow "one reference" of your choice. I'm not sure if these books would be OK for the exam, but I'm mainly just interested in learning more about the coding at this point.

Have a good day!
