My doctors (internal medicine) insist on coding "hypersomnolence" or "excessive daytime sleepiness" and I am pretty sure there are no codes that say EXACTLY that. Probably will be in ICD-10, but nothing that codes to that exact verbage (which is how I was taught to code). Any suggestions? I have repeatedly beat my doctors upside the head, but they insist on coding this way.

I might be wrong but aren't hypersomnolence and hypersomnia the same thing? hypersomnia is in ICD-9
