Question - dr. is seeing the patient in the hospital for sub care 99223 lets say that date is 5-1, then the next day he sees the patient 5-2) for the sub care 99223 but decided to do surgery, so we added a 57 to the sub care for that date, but the visit before (5-1) is denying, do I adjust this off? I cant put another 57 on can I? please help

For 90 day procedures the day before the surgery is included in the global surgical package.

The -57 modifier signifies that the decision for surgery was made during this encounter. The provider can't decide to perform surgery multiple times so one of your services is going to have to be adjusted off.
