My interpretation of the term 'subclinical' is that the disease is present but not detectable with clinical tests. It's similar to saying 'asymptomatic'. I would code this as just hyperthyroidism. If the wording in the rest of the documentation suggests that this might not be the case, then I would query the provider for clarification.
