We are an asc for gastro. Should the the 45390 (new code) be used in place of the 2 codes (45381 and 45385-59) we have used in the past for a colon with snare polypectomy and submucosal injection? I have heard argument that the new code only applys to mucosal resections of a mucosal lesion and not when the injection is used to lift a polyp for easier and more complete removal.
