I am struggling with a scenario for the use of CPT 96365 and a scenario for 96374. Can I get a simple explanation of concurrent and sequential as well. I have read and re read the CPT descriptions...I just want to make sure I have the correct understand of the two codes....thanks for any help!!!

96365 is for infusion of a medication 16 minutes or longer. 96374 is a push that is 15 minutes or less.

Concurrent infusions are given at the same time via the same access site. A central line with multiple lumens (TLC - triple lumen catheter) with infusions running at the same time are concurrent. Sequential is one drug or service following another.

Think of sequential as being in a sequence, like a sequence of events, if things are in a sequence they aren't concurrent.
