I’m having a hard time deciding between 59820 and 59812.

Suction D&C for retained products of conception after SAB. Diagnosed with embryonic demise consistent with SAB but found to have evidence of retained products (sac not visualized).

59812 would be your option. There was not missed abortion, but rather was done to remove what they thought might be retained products after a spontaneous abortion. Despite there being no products found, the purpose of the procedure and the work would be described by 59812.
