Okay pt comes in the right lower quadrant pain....the path report shows suggestive of appendicitis...should I code appendicitis?
 
I would say that "suggestive of" is equivalent to "unconfirmed". Personally I'd code the symptom. If this was an inpatient situation, the coding would be different as you could use a "suspected" DX.
