Patient had a gastro related surgery, now patient in post op days(90 days ) . During global days, if they performed CXR , Can we use modifier 79 with CXR. In super coder, we can find the modifier under the heading "Modifier guidelines" , modifier 79 not listed to use with 71010, whereas, under the heading " MODIFIER CROSS WALK -P", modifier 79 has listed . Since we are working for physicians, Please advice can we use modifier 79 as per the "Modifier Crosswalk -P". Plz make me clear on this...

Radiology during post op period is not considered part of the global surgical package so you don't need any mods.

Thanks for your reply. Can you please explain the difference between "Modifier guidelines" and "MODIFIER CROSS WALK -P" in SUPERCODER ?

Modifier Guidelines are specific to the code. Modifier Crosswalks are links to a modifier's definition and explanation not specific to the code.
