If a medical practice has different specialties, can any specialty MD over see the NP or PA?
For example:
All our NP/PA's are considered "Medical Oncology" and we have Medical Oncologists but also have other specialty MD's such as thoracic, pulmonology, radiation oncology within our group.
However....
If an NP that primarily see's Thoracic patients and is supervised under the Thoracic MD see's a thoracic patient in follow up but only a Medical oncology MD is in office, would that still get billed incident to (if applicable)? Or solely under the NP? Can any MD present regardless of specialty supervise that visit?
