As a Certified coder and one who does the billing also at a university Health Service center, if we bill to Tricare as one of the students insurances is it necessary to have a surety bond?
Also what would be the pros and cons of having one please?
 
Why do you think Tricare would require that? Or are you saying the Health Service Center might require it?

Some billers are bonded, some are not. Pro - it's an insurance policy. Con - most people don't make them large enough to cover embezzlement or financial losses.
