I am very new to Inpatient coding and need some help please!

We had a patient come to our hospital for a Right Total Knee Arthroplasty.
Two days later, during his inpatient stay, he had a fall in the hospital and landed on his knee, splitting open his surgical knee wound.
He was brought to the OR and had irrigation and debridement and wound closure done.

The second procedure would be 0JQN0ZZ.

I've seen articles about CMS's No Pay policy for Hospital Acquired Conditions, which includes falls.
Do we still code/report this procedure?
How about DRG since it's different from the original TKA procedure?

The key here is the POA status. When coding this inpatient encounter, the fall and traumatic dehiscence will have a POA status of "No".
In this case, it will likely be considered a HAC- hospital acquired condition and not a PSI.
PSI 14 is generally a post op dehiscence of abdominal and pelvic surgery. It does not necessarily have to be traumatic.

Some concomitant conditions can exclude this PSI, such as pregnancy or being immunocompromised.
