Surgical Modifier

Pt does not want surgery, even though Dr recommends, they decide to do a closed treatment with brace. A few days later the patient wants the surgery. What modifier would be appropriate for the second procedure? 58? Not sure - thanks.

Yes, I think 58 would be the appropriate modifier. It is a more extensive procedure that the original and that fits the descriptor of 58.
