Can someone tell me how to code a suture removal of conjunctiva? See op note below.
I thought 65205. The patient had loose sutures.

The conjunctiva was grasped to hold the eye still because the patient had severe nystagmus. The sutures were removed with a beaver blade and a 30-gauge needle to elevate one end of the suture. All the sutures were removed without difficulty. The wound had completely healed and I felt that it was better to remove all sutures at this time rather than bring the patient back and do it in two stages. It had been six months since the patient had surgery. The patient was transferred to the recovery room in stable condition. He will be asked to use antibiotic ointment four times a day for one week.

Thanks,
Vickie

My impression is that suture removal is included in your office visit, even outside the global period. The only exception is if you have to return to the OR to remove the sutures under anesthesia other than local (15850-15851).
