Dx- non -pyogenic synovitis of dorsm of hand
Operation: Synovectomy of 3 rd extensor tendon from proximal phalalanx to the mid metacarpal
Under bier block anesthesia, the hand was prepped and draped in a sterile fashion. An incision was made over the swelling of 3rd metacarpal joint. Incision was carried down to extensor tendon. There was a non -pyogenic type tissue covering the entire area . There was one small ara of pustule and most of it was non -pyogenic. It covered the entire extensor tendon. This proximally was found to run almost to the base of the 3rd metacarpal dorsally, also on the dorsum of hand proximally, there were more pusule and it was also removed and cultures werec taken. Mycobacterium cultures were also taken . A sharp incision was then used to remove all this tissue from extensor tendon . steri strips and pressure dressinf app;ied
The booking says it was an incision /drainage code of 26034, but i think it made be more . any suggestions ? thanks for your time
