When performing the diagnostic complete heart cath to evaluate for possible TAVR, abdomino-iliac angio is done to assess whether the groins can handle the large sheaths used duing TAVR. Would you CPT code the abdomino-iliac (for the facility)? I think it would be considered road mapping especially when in the "Indications for procedure" is dictated:
"Abdominal aortography with ileo-femoral run-off's performed secondary
for evaluation of anatomy for possible TAVR procedure."
There is nothing in H & P regarding claudication etc, in fact it states patient walks 2 - 3 miles/day w/o (cardiac) symptoms.
Thank you
