I am an office manager for small ENT/audiology practice in Texas. The doctor is listed with NPPES as group-single specialty. As I add the audiologists to her contracts, does that change her to group-multi specialty? If so, how do I go about changing her status with NPPES?
Thanks!

Hello - question is...is audiology considered part of ENT specialty? That will answer your question on single vs multi level specialty. As far as updating the information on NPPES, the individual provider must do this with their NPPES (PECOS) User Name and Password. If they will allow you to do this, I would sit with them and call the NPPES 1-800 number and speak with one of the NPPES representatives. They will ask to speak with the provider and ask them security questions and can then tell them what their User Name is if they forgot it and a new temporary password. Once this is done - they can go in and update the NPPES info.
