Wiki TC modifiers for radiology in hospitals

Are hospitals required to use the TC modifier when performing radiology procedures? In Minnesota many of our main hospitals do not use the TC modifier on the radiology codes.

I'm in MN and we use TC all the time, but we're provider based, so maybe that's why?

The TC does not appear on a UB because the charge is driven by the associated revenue code for that line item, therefore it is unnecessary.
