Should a teaching physician document their own independent interpetation of a test in their attestation for category 2 data credit for E/M level selection?
I understand for the payment of an interpretation of diagnostic radiology and other diagnostic tests the interpretation must be performed by or reviewed with a teaching physician, I am unable to find any information for MDM credit.
Example: Orthopaedic assigning a moderate level service due to a complicated injury and indep interp of a test with this attestation: Patient seen and examined. I agree with the resident's assessment and plan as stated above.

To me, that attestation does not state that the billing/teaching physician performed an independent interpretation. If the ortho did an independent interp, it should be documented as such. What was the test? What was the interpretation??
