Hello, it is my understanding that as of 2025 telehealth policy will revert back to a rural only service except for ESRD or BH? Can anyone elaborate on this or what it means for Telehealth providers. Thank you

From the CMS press release: "...However, absent Congressional action, beginning January 1, 2025, the statutory restrictions on geography, site of service, and practitioner type that existed prior to the COVID-19 PHE will go back into effect. After that date, people with Medicare will need to be in a rural area and a medical facility to receive non-behavioral health services via Medicare telehealth."

So if Congress doesn't take action by the end of the year, we will revert to pre-pandemic rules for telehealth on January 1.

Hi, Thank you this is the first article I saw, Guess we will have to wait for outcome and effects. Some are proposing a decrease in reimbursement for telehealth as a means to keep the option available. Considering the ramp up in telehealth providers this shall be interesting.
