Can a mental health provider (psychiatrist) still bill and receive payment for a Telehealth visit that they perform while the provider only being licensed in Illinois and the patient is out of state in another state due to a patient such as at school, vacation, etc.?
 
I believe the POS would be 02 for services rendered elsewhere than the patient's home for telehealth.
 
For Dates of Service on or after January 1, 2022 - POS: 02 for telehealth services provided other than in patients home and POS: 10 for telehealth services provided in patients home.
You would still use modifier 95 for the Synchronous telemedicine service rendered via real-time Interactive audio and video telecommunications system.
