Has anyone change 99213,95 to 98006? Looks like some payers are paying and others are not. Thought all telehealth needed to be change

Hi there, Medicare does not accept the new codes and each private payer can decide whether to accept them. Unfortunately that means you will need to check each plan's policy to find out what they cover, whether they want modifiers, etc.
I've seen payers that don't accept any of the new codes, some that accept the new audio/video codes but not the audio-only and some that accept the new codes AND office/outpatient E/Ms with the appropriate modifier. And Independence restricts audio-only to a few specialties.
