Are we able to bill telehealth if the provider is providing services from home? The provider was exposed to COVID and wants to still see her patients, will be telephone only. I just want to make sure the provider is not required to be in the 'office'.

Hi there,
For Medicare during the PHE : Yes - if the provider is able to perform the encounter from home the provider can bill a telehealth or audio-only visit. Being able to perform the encounter includes the telehealth or audio-only encounter is appropriate for the patient and the provider can conduct it in a way that other people in the house can't overhear the encounter.

I hesitate to comment on private payers policies because it seems those are all over the place.
