Hi,

Can we bill E&M outpatient visits (New Patient or Established Patient) along with telephonic E&M services on same day.If yes,will it get paid.If the answer is No,then will it affect MIPS score or will get negative adjustment.

if you read the instructions in the CPT book you will see for the 99441-99443 codes for telephone calls, the provider cannot bill a phone call if the patient initiates the call within 7 days of the office encounter , if the call relates to what was discussed or treated in the office visit makes the phone call not billable. So a phone call on the same day as the office visit would not be billable unless you could clearly indicate that the patient was calling for reasons entirely unrelated.
