With the new 95 modifier for telepsych is this in place of the GT modifier or do we use both the 95 and GT? Thanks!

I have the same question. I recently watched a webinar that talked about the new modifier 95 but did not say it replaced the GT modifier. I haven't received the 2017 HCPCS book yet so do not know if the GT modifier is still listed in it.

Both modifiers are valid for 2017. It sounds like its going to be payer preference.

You would pick one or the other. Unless the specific payer lists any guidance and the payer accepts G HCPCS (follows medicare guidelines codes) I'd probably use the GT modifier. If they don't follow medicare use the 95. If they start denying GT start using 95.
