Good morning family,
I have a question, I am currently working on a CABG, I always notice my providers insert a temporary pacing wire. Is there a code for this and can it be billed? I have never billed for it, thinking it was apart of the procedure. Also can I bill for the median sternotomy done during this procedure as well?

PROCEDURES
1. Aortocoronary bypass times 2 utilizing left internal mammary artery to reconstructed distal left anterior descending artery, saphenous vein graft to
dominant obtuse marginal branch #1.
2. Left anterior descending artery, extensive coronary endarterectomy with
removal of coronary stent.
3. Left anterior descending artery distal/apical greater saphenous vein patch angioplasty.
4. Xenograft implant to restore the pericardial defect utilizing the
acellular graft by CorMatrix (CPT code 15777). - I DON'T BILL FOR THIS
5. Harvesting of autologous tissue in the form of blood to centrifuge and
prepare with thrombin calcium for postoperative application to promote wound
healing and hemostasis (platelet gel). 0232T
6. Left subclavian central venous catheter placement.
7. Ultrasound flow measurement of the coronary grafts.
8. Right lower extremity endoscopic vein harvesting.
9. Temporary pacing wires.

The operative is so long and broke up so back on my PDF, so this is just the summary of the procedure. If anyone can help from what I gave, that would be great.

HI~
Temporary PPM are include in the surgery and the sternotomy is also. You have to open up chest to perform surgery so that is already figured in the reimbursement/RVU's.

Hope this helps!
