Hello,
Billing for TENS therapy performed in an office setting.
Provider is questioning coding.
This is how they believe it should be billed:
64550 - TENS unit
97032 - each 15 minutes with patient TENSing
This is being performed on the jaw.
Please help! I don't think this is appropriate to bill as above.
NCCI edits show 64550 as included in 97032 unless -59 modifier applies.
I understand that the reimbursement for 64550 is very low and that is why they think we are missing something here.
Please help! This is not my area.
