I need help with coding a Return to work for designated doctor billing. I have always used CPT code 99456 with modifiers W8 RE to bill for the return to work exam coding; now I am being told this is not correct. Can anyone help me with this coding problem.

Is this a RTW exam requested by the WC Division or the WC insurance carrier? I assume the provider has not seen/treated the patient before...
