The surgeon performs TURBT removes a tumor and sends it to pathology. The tumor size is not in the OP report. Can I code the size from the Pathology report? Another example is for Two tumors that were resected and put in one cassette to the Pathologist. How can I code the tumor size from that pathology report for my CPT procedure which goes by tumor size minor, small, medium codes?? Thank you
 
Hi! I've always been told it is not correct to code from the path report. If you can query the physician, I would try that first. Otherwise, we are to use the code for the smallest size tumor.
