hi,

I wasn't sure where to post this question. It's a diagnostic rad coding question. Would you consider a coned down thoracolumbar view in the lateral projection a separate view from a T-spine lateral or would you consider it as completing the view?

Thanks

Hi, I review - audit for Diag Radiology. My thought is it is indeed a separate lateral view, but not sure it can be coded as an additional single view (72080-52) in addition to the 72080 (most likely MUE there). The 2 vw descriptor can be interpreted that as long as 2 vws were performed, you met the criteria. (Just my thoughts. Not sure if anyone else out there has a different interpretation of the code.)
