I have a question from one of our doctors:

We did a US guided wire loc, and then two mammograms, and finally a specimen radiograph.
We used to separate this into two accession numbers, but now there is just one accession number.
The techs tell me that somehow the specimen charge is added on after the fact.
This may work for the technical side, but does it work for the professional side?
To put this into a different perspective, if the procedure was performed by a surgeon, there would be 3 charges:

a biopsy charge for the surgeon, an interpretation charge for the radiologist, and the hospital the technical.

Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.
Rob
