My physician is removing only the RT lobe of the thyroid and it has a substernal component. Does anyone know if the 60271 is only for a total thyroid removal?
 
There's a CPT Assistant Aug 2020 pg 14 that now states it should be 60220-22 for Substernal Lobectomy. 60271 is only for TOTAL thyroidectomy w/substernal component.
