Can anyone answer this question for me? I have a radiologist who has performed a procedure, but has not submitted a report of the procedure. Is there a time limit that the report must be made after the procedure? I have a case that's over a month old and no report at this time. Where can I find documentation about any penalties for late reports?

Thanks,
Jim Pawloski, CIRCC

Most hospitals have an expectation with regards to completion of medical records. Ours is rather long--30 days, but anything not completed or deficient after that time is grounds for the provider losing their priveleges. Check with the hospital's bylaws for that information.
