If a claim is submitted within the timely filing limit but isn't received by the insurance company is the time extended to rensend the claim or must it still be submitted within the initial filing period from the DOS?

Typically, the date of timely filing begins with the actual date of service. If you have exceeded the timely filing, you may want to check with your clearinghouse. Often times, the carrier will deny receiving the claim but the clearinghouse can produce proof that is was submitted. This can help with the appeal process.
