Wiki Total Hip/Knee

Any suggestions on total hip/knee op-reports? I get the impression that 90% of the time it's a single CPT code (i.e. 27447) that covers all.

Any suggestions as to what else, if anything, that I should look for in the op-report? Thanks.

Total knee = 27447
Total Hip = 27130

the cpt codes I know already. It's the "extras" like menisectomy, etc. that I should look for in the op-report.

Re: knee: Synovectomy, removal of loose bodies, meniscectomy retinacular release, ligament or capsular release, repair and/ reconstruction, ligament advancement, manipulation are all included in the 27447. Patellectomy is not included.
Re: Hip: same idea of what's included (excision of acetabular osteophytes, manipulation, capsular release repair and reconstruction, synovectomy, capsulectomy, joint debridement, removal of loose bodies...)
Tenotomy of adductors, autograft, and intertrochanteric / subtrochanteric femoral osteotomy, are not included.
