What codes(s) would I use for a conversion of a hemiarthroplasty (humeral component) to a total shoulder? I am leaning towards 23334 and 23472. Is that right? I have never coded a shoulder hemi to total before, just a hip and that has a code...
 
Hi Monica!

Late reply, but wanted to answer for those who might need the future reference. In the CPT "Expert" book, under 23334 (Removal of Prosthesis) it specifically states NOT to bill 23334/23335 with 23470-23472.

"Do not report with prosthesis removal and replacement in same shoulder (eg, glenoid and/or humeral components) (23470-23472)"
