I am reaching out for assistance on billing the pre transplant evaluation.
The patient will have outpatient testing the day prior to the evaluation visit. This testing will include a cardiac stress test, ekg, echocardiogram, Labs and a CT. For Medicare this testing is submitted on the cost report.
My question is about private payers. I am thinking the testing should just be billed out by the cardiology, kidney or other specialty group performing the tests. But at this time the specialty groups are billing the transplant center and no charges are going out for the testing.
