Pt had a traumatic amputation of lower leg. My surgeon went in debrided it and cut tib/ and fib in the manner of an amputation with closure with wound vac. Question would I code this as an amputation, or use the debridment open fracture? Any thoughts, I never encountered this before.

I would probably leans towards 27886 without seeing op report....based on that code see what is included??
