Hi All,

Can anybody give me the information about two E/M services on same day.

I know we can bill two E/M services if one is preventive and the other one is sick visit with 25 mod.

My question is can we bill preventive visit with hospital subsequent visit?
ex: 99401 and 99232

Is there any rule that the sick visit must be the office/out patiet visit?

My second question is can we bill two preventive visits on same day? ex:99385 and 99401

Thanks in advance !!!

I have never used these codes together but based on CPT it sounds like you could do the 99401 with the inpatient as long as it is not used in the determination of the E/M level. There would need to be enough documentation for each of them to stand alone.

You can not bill 99401 with another preventive code.

CPT clearly states that 99401-99412 are for reporting counseling/anticipatory guidance/risk factor reduction interventions that are provided at an encounter separate from the preventive medicine examination.
