Now being asked to do U/S NO Doppler on transplanted kidney. What is the best fit ? 76775 - ltd retroperitoneal or 76705 (ltd abdominal U/S). The transplanted kidney does not get placed in the retroperitoneal space; it is more in the pelvic / abdominal area, since the native kidneys are never removed. Help ?
 
76776 is used for a transplanted kidney, if it includes duplex doppler. If it were without the doppler, it would be billed as 76775.
 
duh, sorry. it's been a while since i've coded radiology studies like this...I was thinking of the duplex studies. I would go with 76776 for this one then.
