I have been doing some research on using the code U0003 but, need some help. If a lab has the ability to complete over 200 specimens per day using high throughput technology but, does not meet the 200 per day threshold, can you still charge U0003 because you have the ability to process that number or, do you have to use 87635? CMS ruling 2020-1-R states A high throughput technology uses a platform that employs automated processing of more than two hundred specimens a day. The term employ means "makes use of". If anyone has specific knowledge on this, your input is greatly appreciated.
