OPERATIVE PROCEDURE: Open umbilical hernia
POSTOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Supraumbilical Hernia

A 3cm supraumbilical incision was made. I dissected down to the hernia sac, dissected around the hernia sac, freed up the adhesions around hernia sac to the fascia, was able to reduce the hernia sac. It appear to be preperitoneal herniation seen at the umbilical defect was 1cm in size. I decided to close this primarily with 0 Ethibound sutures.

I choose CPT - 49560 dx. K43.9

Is that correct?

Thank you

I think it should be coded as a repair of umbilical not ventral. Although ICD-10 book leads Supra-Umbilicus to ventral.
