I'm planning on using unlisted CPT code 43999 stomach, unlisted, but need to compare it to something to qualify it for payment. Since there is no surgical equivalent of this procedure (like a lap gastric sleeve instead of an endoscopic gastric sleeve), what procedure would I use to qualify it? TIA
 
I would use comparable to 43843, this is a "gastric restrictive procedure, without gastric bypass, and its a technique used by a balloon, an "other than vertical-banding gastroplasty".
