My physician has been doing a Bilateral Laparscopic Component Separation with Rectus Flap repair. We have been using the Unlisted procedure code and I was wondering how to figure out the charge for this procedure and what is a good reimbursement for this?

For instance, the surgery took over 6hours to perform and we charged $7500 for the bilateral unlisted code and Medicare came back and paid $175.00. How do I go about and appeal the payment and what would be an appropriate payment?

Please help me or can you give me some good resources to use.
