Wiki unsuccessful Ear/Eye foreign body removal-Do I need a modifer?

If the physician performs a procedure for ear or eye foreign body and is unable to remove it, do I need to add a modifier? Do I use -52 or -53?
This is for an urgent care setting.

For a procedure where the clinician discontinued and could not complete the procedure (foreign body was too deep, patient couldn't tolerate probing, etc), I would use -53.
