Hi

I'm hoping to get some guidance on an unusual situation for one of our patients. Patient was being seen for blood clot that required irrigation. It was then noted he had a bladder perforation that was repaired (90day global). Patient was then readmitted to the hospital due to continuous blood clots. One of our other providers who was on call, saw the patient in the hospital, did bedside irrigation's and ending up having to take the patient back to the OR. Patient has Medicare and I know I can bill for the return to the OR but what about the visits and bedside procedures? Usually I would not bill those due to the global period however, the blood clots were technically not a complication of the surgery and the surgery didn't fix the problem.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Tori
